Bob Daubney started selling bowling trophies in the 1950's
as he set pins at the Bowl-la-Tourium in Troy, NY while
he was attending High School at LaSalle Institute. In 1954
after High School he went to work as a lane man in a 16
lane center in Albany, NY. In the summer of 1956 bob started
working for AMF building new lanes throughout the Northeast
United States. In 1958 he took the job as a Pro at Bowling
Green Lanes. It was 1959 that Bob opened his first store
on 135 North Pearl St in Albany, NY selling balls, bags,
shoes, and trophies. In 1961 he opened his billiard factory
on Broadway St. in Albany, NY. In 1968 he moved his store
to #4 Fuller Rd. where he did business until 1985 at which
time he purchased a 50 lane center called the Bowlers Club.
In 1986 he opened his present store in Rt. 9 Latham, NY
and operates there to this day. Along Bob's long trip he
has bowled many high scores, joined the PBA in 1960. Bob
decided then to make his career in selling balls not rolling
them for a living.
He is a member of Albany Bowling Hall of Fame, a holder
of a national record of highest 3 game total score. To this
day he still works with bowlers and teaches classes. bob
gives his success to his family and him many friends and
associates who have helped him over so many years. Also,
Bob Daubney's is among the top 5% of companies doing
business continuously for 50 years in the United States.
